2112_pansies_7683493Pansies are hardy annuals that are perfect for adding color to your garden during any season! They have one of the widest ranges of colors and are good for containers, borders, and ground covers.

Pansy seeds can be started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting them outside. For early spring and summer flowering, it’s best to plant seeds in the late winter; or, if you want winter-blooming pansies, you can plant seeds in the summer.

Pansies love moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. They do well in full to partial sun and appreciate the occasional shade and cooler temperatures. Remember to water your pansies regularly. You can use a general, all-purpose fertilizer around your pansies to help them grow.
